Schools recognise that the human resources is a prime determining factor for future progress and prosperity.
This is specially true in the face of pressures such as increased competition and the need to constantly improve services and quality of education.
A small part of the competencies required by a school is acquired by education before an individual is employed. The largest share is developed by training and work-related experience at the school.
This document outlines an approach to training and development in the independent school environment.
It suggests that the school meet its skills challenges, and those of the South African labour market, by investing in the development of its human resources, and by aligning this development with its educational mandate and business strategies.
