The nature of the School’s business and meeting the expectations of its clientele requires employee good health, and an ability for every employee to be able to meet the standards of performance required.
The first section of this policy deals with employee injury. Any injury that occurs in the course of an employee’s duties must be reported immediately to the employee’s manager, and the required procedures of the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act must be fully complied with.
The second section of the policy covers disability. The purpose of the disability procedure is to guide and assist School management to manage disability sensitively, fairly and effectively.
The procedure to be followed will be in accordance with relevant statutory guidelines and appropriate Codes of Good Practice, and the School will strive to deal with all cases of disability practically but also with great empathy.
